PUTTING AN END TO THE TRAGEDY OF RANCHING IN NAPOLEON WRASSE FISHERY IN INDONESIA: A SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH

This study aims to look into Napoleon wrasse ranching in Anambas Islands Regency. Historically, the society has been socially constructed an unsustainable view of exploiting marine resources. In fishery, overfishing played a significant role loss its populations. Due lack adult stock ecosystem, larvae despite high mortality rate are also sought as target. It is found tremendous amount wasted period due low survival capacity adapt caged so that effectiveness questianable. Larvae fishing become object tragedy commons, whereas this particular activity plays important fishery. As result, conservation and management have never more important.
